The Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) have announced Taiwan’s squad for the upcoming friendly game with Singapore on November 18th. Twenty-five players from four countries have been called up for the team’s final friendly of the 2024 calendar year.
Among the call ups is uncapped midfielder, Kang Tae-won. Although born in South Korea, Kang is eligible for the team through his Taiwanese father. His call-up to the Taiwanese team comes after the Chinese Taipei Football Association received final approval from FIFA last month.
Also notable are some of absences from the list. They include the experienced Tainan FC trio of keeper Pan Wen-chieh, defender Chen Wei-chun and midfielder Wu Chung-ching. Taichung Futuro’s Wen Chih-hao and Taipower’s Ko Yu-ting were also not called up. Given the age and seniority of the players, it is probable they are being rested for the Singapore game.
